Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata Receives $390,000 in New Grants to Support its Growth Ahead of Opening
Boston, MA — March 22, 2025 — Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata is excited to announce the receipt of two significant grants, totaling $390,000. These generous grants, from the Charles J. Caron Foundation and the McNeice Foundation, will advance the school’s mission to open an affordable, co-ed, Catholic, classical high school in MetroWest, Boston.

Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata, a joyfully Catholic, classical co-educational school in MetroWest Boston serving grades 9-12, seeks faithful and talented educators who have a passion for Catholic classical education to serve as full- and part-time faculty members of our school, which will open in September 2025.

Boston Pilot: Gala supports new Chesterton Academy to open this fall
Archbishop Henning's predecessor in Providence, Bishop Thomas Tobin, was bishop when the school was first announced, but Archbishop Henning was there when it first opened. The archbishop described it thusly: Bishop Tobin was there for the conception, but he was there for the birth.
"I was delighted when coming to Boston to learn that there's a new baby about to be born here, and I'm expecting great things," he said. "So my primary message to you tonight is to say that I will certainly be looking forward to being with you and seeing this come to life, but I'm also so grateful to you for the hard work that has already been done and all the hard work that's coming."

Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata to Host Archbishop Richard G. Henning and Dr. Peter Kreeft at 2025 Inaugural Gala in Newton, MA
Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata, an independent classical Catholic high school, is pleased to announce that Archbishop Richard G. Henning of the Archdiocese of Boston will attend the school’s Inaugural Gala, “Against the Current,” on February 1, 2025, at the Boston Marriott Newton. The Archbishop will offer his support for the academy as it marks this significant milestone in its journey. The evening will also feature Dr. Peter Kreeft, Professor of Philosophy at Boston College, as the keynote speaker, and Franciscan University Professor John Walker, who portrays G.K. Chesterton on EWTN’s Chesterton Station, as the emcee.

Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata First “Against the Current” Campaign Goal Met
Through the intercession of our Patroness and the generosity and support of our donors, Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata reached our Phase Two fundraising benchmark of $130,000!

On the Feast of the Transfiguration, Archbishop of Boston, Cardinal Séan O’Malley, signed a canonical decree approving Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata as an independent Catholic high school in the Archdiocese of Boston. The co-ed classical high school is scheduled to open in the MetroWest Boston area in the fall of 2025 and is accepting applications beginning this October.


Immaculata Mom runs for the cause
This October, Lynn Somers will be running the Cape Cod marathon for Chesterton Academy of the Immaculata. All of the donations she garners for her run will be donated to the founding of our school.
